Where can the full version of Swype be downloaded?
The full version of Swype is now available on Google Play! We offer both a full version and a trial version of Swype in Google Play.

Why wasn’t Swype made available on Google Play previously?
The first public demonstration of Swype occurred in 2007, a few years before Android became a mainstream mobile operating system. At that time, it wasn’t clear how successful a business model based on application publishing in app stores for Android could be. Therefore, Swype, Inc. pursued and successfully secured business via OEM licensing which resulted in the pre-install of Swype on over 250 million devices to date. At this time, we’re thrilled to finally offer Swype to even more Swype fans on Google Play!

Why isn’t Swype available for iPhone/iPad/BlackBerry/Windows Phone?
Due to the technical design of some operating systems, it is not possible for third party keyboards (such as Swype) to be offered at this point in time. Please communicate to your device/OS manufacturer that you’d like to see Swype available as a keyboard option!

What other platforms is Swype available on?
Swype has been pre-installed on devices for Android, Symbian, MeeGo, and Windows 7.

Which languages are supported in Swype? Which languages does Dragon Dictation support?

Is the Swype Beta over now that you’re on Google Play?
No, but Swype Beta is returning to its roots! Are you an Android user who is comfortable with unstable builds and lots of bugs? If so, please visit http://beta.swype.com for information on how to sign up and stay tuned for more information as we revamp the Swype Beta program!

If you are an existing user of the latest Swype Beta version (v1.4.9), this version of Swype Beta will expire (on par with previous releases of Swype Beta). The expiration date for Swype Beta v1.4.9 is September 14, 2013.

Can I change my voice input provider in Swype?
If you have a pre-installed version of Swype on your device, the device manufacturer configures Swype’s voice input engine.

If you purchased Swype from Google Play, Dragon Dictation is the default voice provider as both products are developed and published by Nuance.

Can I speak commands and punctuations when I use Dragon Dictation?
Yes. If you want to have punctuation in your dictation results, you can speak them by saying “comma”, “period”, etc. Some special symbols such as “$”, “%” are automatically placed in context. You can also perform some basic text commands by speaking them. For example, you can say “New Paragraph” to have a new paragraph in your dictation.

To download additional languages in Swype, navigate to Swype Settings > My Words > Download languages, and select the languages you wish to install.
